2013 Honda NX 700 automatic

For 460,000 thb, this motorcycle is a game changer.  No stalling. No shifting. No searching for neutral. This baby is an automatic, meaning it doesn't even have a clutch lever.  It's just not there.  It does have the option for manual shifting, but it's on the left hand thumb.   You and manually shift up or down even when it's in auto mode.   There is a tell tale click when shifting, so it's happening without out you knowing.

A few other unique features are the gas tank placement - it's under the second rider seat.   The seat pops up and there is a cap underneath.  So now you're asking, what is where the gas tank should be?   Well it's pure storage.  Large enough for a helmet.

Another thing we noticed that after a day ride with my Kawasaki ER6-N, the amount of gas saved by the NX 700 was at least $3 on a single tank.   You would think the 649 cc bike would be a bit better on the fuel than the 670 cc NX 700, but the auto shifting allow it to be miserly on the gas consumption.

The NX 700 has got to be the best novice bike on the market.  It also has to be the best Bangkok big bike as well, anyone that has driven in Bangkok knows that clutch play is a pain in the ass in the city.  If you're just getting started - this is your bike.  Period.
